    After Market Fuel Filter 2.7TDV6

Has anyone found an aftermarket fuel filter for a 2007MY and later 2.7TDV6. I understand the OEM filters are actually made by Cooper Filters but Cooper themselves only list the pre 2007 filter as an aftermarket fitment.

    Cheers

I take it by the overwhelming response that the answer is a big no.

Britpart list the fuel filter in their service pack, I'm not sure if it's genuine LR part or not.

Interesting listings - the Fuel Filter listed for the RRS 2.7 is the old filter - $25 from Cooper. The one listed for the RRS 3.6 is the correct listing for the 07MY on RRS 2.7.

Over on the D3 area - they list both filters for the 2.7 with a Vin range for each filter.

It would seem the catalogue has not been updated to reflect the change in fuel filter for the RRS as it has for the D3.

That doesn't surprise me in the slightest, Britpart don't have the nickname "Sh*tpart" with my independant for nothing.

I am not sure if the filters for the current generation of engines are made by Coopers.

Also, if they are a new - specially designed filter, they may be covered by patents and alternates to OEM may not be available (yet). It also takes time for other manufacturers to reverse engineer filters - even if there are no patents to infringe.

The OEM supplier will usually sell the filter in their branding, however they invariably have an agreement not to sell it for a lower price than the vehicle manufacturer.

However I could probably find out who makes the filter for you.

I have just been informed that MANN+HUMMEL (MANN filter) make the oem air filters for the disco 3 and 4 td engines. They may also make the oil and fuel but not sure yet. However, they definitely make a full compliment of filters for the vehicles, which they guarantee to be OEM quality or better. I will be supplied with the full list of MANN part numbers today or tomorrow.

I was told by the local dealer spare parts guy (who is well known to Canberra land rover owners as he has worked in various landrover specialist organisations for a number of years).

But if you can obtain other listings that would be great.

    Thanks

Cooper(s) (I always forget which is which) may still make the oil and fuel filters. However my source on the air filter info was one of the senior guys at M+H (Europe).
