Funnily enough the battery system should be your easiest decision,,

Hi all our new D4 HSE Nara Bronze with E diff finally arrived in February after a nearly 5 month wait and thanks to an inheritance we have some money for toys to finish the package. We are looking at an OL winch bar with 9500lb Avenger winch, safari snorkel and Rotronics Dual Battery System. Its a big spend and we only want to do it once so we would love some feedback/pros and cons on our choices from experienced 4wders. The battery system is our biggest worry as the Disco seems to be a bit difficult to fit. Any better options? Cheers and thanks in advance.

Dual Battery system = Traxide.
Seen/Fitted many in operation. Simple easy & just good damn value.
Contact "Traxide" or see index7 for more info.
Cheers

I have the OL dual battery system fitted to my D4 and have had no problems with it. The usual response from LR when taking the car in for servicing though, "any electrical problems may no longer be covered by the warranty".... it's just a risk you have to run. They also fitted a rear wheel carrier which I have been equally pleased with and a safari snorkel. I went to ARB for the bull bar though as I wasn't too happy with the fit of the one from OL and the fact originally it only came in alloy bright finish, but I think this has now changed.
Wow - blinging the already blinged D4. You'll be able to sell heaps of drugs ! (allegedly).
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Hi MACWOOD1,
I'm to keen to fit an ARB bar and snorkel.
Where did you get the bar fitted. North or South of the river.
The reason I ask is that I made enquiries at ARB Cannington with the following response.
[We have the winch bar and the non winch bar in stock
As for the weight of the bar you are looking @ about 55kg
And if installing a winch add about 35kg
And for the snorkel we are still waiting for safari to release 1 for the disco 4
Cheers}
As you can see the manager at ARB is still waiting for a D4 release snorkel but the Safari web site indicates otherwise. Confused

Well over here, the FFRR is the ride of choice for those in the "trade", (or a pickup); the RRS has replaced the LR3 as the upscale soccer Mom's solution, hence the LR4 is purchased by an increasingly select group.
The net result is the exterior visual upgrade kits tend to show up on the Sport and the FFRR, but not so much on the 4. If something does go on the 4, it is an ARB bumper and winch.
I see in todays paper that yesterday in Eastern Canada, a 200 kg black bear went thru the windscreen of a Pathfinder. Killed were two of the three occupants; also the bear. Lose Lose.

You will need to move a few things in the second battery box to fit the battery. Easily doable however.
