I have 2 cars to service an RRS TDV8 and D4.. can't say that I have had anything to winge about from ULR, MLR or Lance Dixon.. All seem very good apart from being very expensive! I use Peninsula Rangie in Frankston for some stuff.. Just had front discs done on TDV8 at a fraction of the cost of main dealers.

I've had work done at Lance Dixon and they did what I wanted and cleaned the car afterwards so no complaints....their spare parts guy could do with a "smiling" course though - it's a small thing but it's always nicer to deal with someone who looks like they actually enjoy their job....at the moment my vehicle is in Ritters for some minor mods - they are much better at "meet & greet" and seem genuinely interested in Landrovers and their owners rather than just fronting a brand....only my opinion of course but I can only go by how I am treated by any business.
    cheers

Recently had a windscreen replaced by Austral in Brisbane, they were $100.00 cheaper than O'Briens, supplied a brand new RRS as courtesy vehicle and washed mine all free of charge, O'Briens would laugh if you asked for that kind of service.
As for a warning that a vehicle is highly modified, I told the salesman what I was wanting to do to the vehicle (Traxide, Fuel Tank, Kaymar Rear Bar, ARB Bar, Drawer System), his response was that Land Rover are aware that people will want to modify their vehicles so that they can perform the duty expected by the purchaser. If only I had recorded that conversation for future reference, not that anything has gone wrong it is a brilliant vehicle.
Austral even fitted a Brake Controller, the Traxide Dual Battery System and gave me instructions on removing the rear seats.
Will have first service shortly, see how that goes.

What more can i say but - Thanks Southern Land Rover Cannington !
I couldnt agree more about the servicing at Southerns. Its great and always friendly and open about everything. I used Barbagallo's and they are absolutely useless. If you are in Perth, use Southern's if you want a enjoyable experience and a actual proper service.

Five years ago Southern in WA advertised a Defender TD5 for about 10 grand less than the going price. I 'phoned them (from Melbourne) and asked why it seemed cheap. The chap said "Mate, there are dents on every panel. Little dents, but on every panel. The stereo is missing, otherwise mate, top car". He then offered to drop the price by a bit more AND give free shipping to Melbourne from Perth.

I couldn't resist, but it was a very nervous wait. When it arrived, it was exactly as described, and they had even fitted a stereo. It was and still is a top car, and probably still worth more than I paid for it 5+ years ago.

If they weren't so far away, I would certainly have bought my new D4 from them.

It is so nice to be able to praise a dealer from time to time! A rare pleasure....

They are the same owner. But completely different management and you can tell they run the business!

    Another good service story.

Having just returned from an outback trip (Sydney, Bourke, Cairns and back) the D4 was splattered with bugs, red dust and mud. I booked the car in for a service on return, hoping that i would get a chance to give it a wash before it went in.

I didn't get to wash the car when i had hoped to. I rang the dealer to postpone the service. I told them it was too dirty to bring in. They insisted i bring it in anyway.

To cut a long story short, i dropped it in for the service covered in filth. Used their loan car to get to work. When i picked up the car i could hardly recognise it. Completely cleaned inside and out. I mean like every bug from the front of the car, all underbody, inside etc.

Cost.... $0.00! This was Purnell in Southern Sydney... No i'm not sponsered by them....
