    Best place to sell D3?

    Hi Folks,
I am toying with the idea of selling my D3 privately, and buying a D4.

Where do you reckon the best place to sell it? EvilBay, FadingPost, Drivel, etc?

I have a feeling that trading my D3 in with all the options I installed, won't get me a fair deal.

    Thoughts and opinions welcome!

    Thanks,
    Rob

I don't know what their costs are like but I bought my wife's car from carsales. etc I don't expect too many D3 buyers to be looking in Evilbay or fadingpost.

    Rob, definately go private sale.
I would try carsales.com.au. Have had good success with them.

    Rob,

I'm in the same boat and am confident of selling my D3 privately for far more than what I couldv'e got as a trade in. The dealer wouldn't make me an offer on a trade-in unless I told what the payout was, so I didn't bother.

I'm using AULRO, Carsales, Carsguide and Trading Post.

Be patient though. There are quite a few used D3's for sale and they seem to hold their price, but there's fewer buyers in this price bracket.

    Cheers,

    Mark

I've got nothing to worry about Neil... changing service agents seems to have fixed all the problems I initially had. That and Land Rover changing design on the HPFP about 3 times on MY07+.

    Rob,

Have you considered removing some of the accessories so you could put them back into a new D4 ?

If you are not getting value for them and assuming they would fit that might be one way to go.

I think a D3 with accessories will appeal to a few but might spook other who think that would mean it has been used a lot off road.

No particular opinion about which is the best way to sell it but for some reason I would be reluctant to buy a vehicle via ebay.

    Regards,

    George

I have to agree with DiscoWeb regarding the fittment of some accessories. Before we bought our D4 we looked at second hand D3's. We found a nice one, but it was fitted with the long range fuel tank and spare wheel carrier. I thought this was great - however, my wife refused to even consider it as she was concerned that this meant the vehicle was either used for long range towing or a lot of outback touring.

In our house my wife always carries the veto power

We actually used carsales & drive.com to do most of our research -which landed us at the dealer we eventually bought the D4 from.
