Late 2005 D3 front screen washers

Well I have finally found my disco 3 and very happy with it. However I've just noticed that the front screen washer button is not working. Is this a common fault and rectified by a new fuse? I hope so. Can anyone also recommend a Land Rover mechanic anywhere near Chatswood or Willoughby in Sydney?
Can't wait to take the whole family somewhere off road, but I need to be able to see out the windscreen first.
    Thanks everyone

Just a quick check, make sure the washer fluid bottle has more than a third or so in it, otherwise it won't work. It needs to have water in it so the motor doesn't run dry & burn out. Also check that the bottle holds fluid, have seen some that split & leak fluid everywhere.
While you are there check that the washer jets ate unblocked, disconnect hose from under the bonnet lhs & see if it pumps water to that hose, this way you may find the jets need a clean.
    Cheers

I'd also check that the hoses did not accidentally disconnect from the water jets. Pump was working fine, but spraying water in the engine bay. J

    there are rules ....

There are a number of conditions, (rules), that have to be satisfied for the headlight washers to squirt, (assuming they do).

I cannot remember them all but I do know that:

the headlights have to be on

also the headlight squirter's will only function every fifth time the windscreen washers squirt; third time if other than normal terrain response setting is in called up

the headlight squirter's require a minimum 10 minutes from the previous squirt

fluid level in washer reservoir must be above some preset level

Rover must be pointed towards Solihull when in Park with engine idling prior to squirter's being tested; when driving, will work in any orientation as befits the worlds best 4x4 by far.

Thanks to everyone, it seems that it may be a hose issue, or perhaps some blockage somewhere. I'll overcome my fear of causing more damage and start to investigate more thoroughly

    All the best

    Me too!
Soaked well into the under bonnet sound/heat lining.
