    Cape York

I heard a story today about a D3 stuck at the tip of Cape York with a broken CV.
Apparently last of the D3's & still under warranty.
Allegedly Landrover Assist are flying mechanics out of Cairns with parts to fix it in situ.

Reasonably reliable source - but will follow up.

Good to see LRA coming to the paryt up there.

    Regards

    Chuck

Its not me but I also heard that they camped for 4 days while LR came and got the truck , took it back to Cairns (I assume) and returned it to them up here.

There was also a Landcruiser with a broken cv...I don't think they were as lucky.

The OTT has claimed over 30 vehicles so far.

We are at Loyalty Beach after walking to the tip yesterday and haven't seen one Landrover of any description since Cooktown!

Our D3 has performed flawlessly and handled the corrugations with ease!

    Cheers

Not sure if the owner is a AULRO member and do not want to steal a good story... I spoke to the owners a number of times. Last time was at Seisa. Broken CV at Archer River road house while situating the camper trailer near the river in sand. LR picked up the D3 and drove it to Cairns, repaired it, then delivered it back while they stayed at Archer River. All under warranty and living expenses also paid for by LR. Fantastic service I would say.

Hi guys...finally back in internet range..

Firstly thanks for your comments on the blog ..I appreciate it!...its a good way of keeping everyone up to date..

Sorry I haven't seen your green D90...I had to laugh as there were a bunch of blokes wearing their ACT landrover club green shirts at Fruit Bat Falls one day and they were all driving Tojos!!!...where are they coming from?...and to top it off I have just run into one of them in Cooktown here and he still has his green shirt on..ha

Yes Baz..the 300tdi scrubbed up well didn't she!!!

Hi Terry...I am not sure when we will be back down in Sydney...perhaps when your weather settles!!..I have just sent an email to the freight guys asking for a list of sailing dates from Brissy or Sydney for late this month or September.

I am going to ring the LR agent in Cairns tomorrow and see if we can get a service...we have done 10000 km so far and haven't used a drop of oil or water...It has performed faultlessly in sand, corrugations, rivers or what ever.

i have just spent the afternoon washing half of Cape York off her..

Talking to a 130 owner at Musgrave last night and he said 34 Toyotas had drowned at Nolans crossing so far this year (maybe they weren't all Tojos but it sounds good)

    Cheers
    Graeme
