The official life of a shock is around ~40,000km...

There is no expectation of warranty over 100,000km....

Just like brake pads and rotors... Some get 100,000+ some get 15,000km

I brake quite hard (and later than most people) so consume pads at a quicker rate than say my mother, who has same pads and rotors on her vehicle for last 5 years....

Imagine if a vehicle spent all its time towing and offroad... Shocks will die much faster than a shopping center crawler...

I meant within the warranty period/km. To have that much bounce shocks have failed and is not normal wear and tear.
Failed bushes are replaced under warranty so should shocks.
