D3 service costs, diesel vs petrol
FYI:
In weighing up the V6 petrol vs. diesel, I made enquiries with a local dealer on approximate service costs for the D3. I understand the Discovery 3 has a 12,000/6 month service interval for both motors, and also that there are three service types: oil and filters; A and B service. The order goes O&F, A, O&F, B, and repeats.
- for the diesel (2.7):
- oil and filter: $356.00 approx
- 72,000: $950.00 approx
- 96,000: $1900.00 approx
- for the V6 petrol (4.0)
- oil and filter: $356.00 approx
- 72,000: $635.00 approx
- 96,000: $1900.00 approx

Seriously?
Mrs Hymie wants a D3 for herself. I'llbuy the car but she can pay for the services!

They're an expensive car and expensive to service at a dealler. You can do much better at a 3rd party LR specialist.

Jesus, for $1900 I'd be expecting them to rebuild the car

An Adelaide dealer (yeah I know there aren't many!) charged me $540 for and oil and filter change (not an A or B, just the intermediate one) for my 2.7 D3.
Not going back there again, unless something else breaks under warranty.
