I have one fitted to my D3 - it works well. It's nice to know coolant temp etc rather than just wait for a red light to appear on the dash.
cheers
Just saw these on eBay...anyone have one of these units and how do they stck up against the better known ones. It says these are manufactured in the US of A?

SubscriberI have one which I got from Wooders Garage as per your link, the unit arrived the next day in a priority mail envelope.
My coolant temp only seems to vary about 3 degrees once warmed up. Generally sits at around 93 Degrees.
What I want is to find the X-code to programe in the Auto transmission fluid temp as I do tow a three ton van, I have tried all the codes mentioned in the book, which fail to work.
The other readings I have are :- Voltage and for economy Horsepower and MAP.
Still haven't got around to a permanent install, it currently sits on top of the steering column.
Ryall
When I am towing I use an EcoRoute HD with my Garmin GPS.

Below is a link to a couple of files I have posted on Disco3 re my ScanGauge installation. The ScanGauge seems not to harm my LR3, (the real concern), when left plugged into the OBD port; the display works in cold weather as well as hot, and is generally no fuss.
It will clear minor faults related to the emission system and MIL light - at least it extinguished the MIL light on one occasion for me which was due to some sort of false code as best I could determine. It is no Faultmate however; mainly just a number display for gauges LR chose not to install.
I am not certain that the X gauge feature of the ScanGauge can display the transmission temperature however there is a transmission oil temperature sensor, (TFT resistor), in the Mechatronic unit. In spite of that, I have not yet been able to source the transmission temp, and yes, that would be a valuable readout.
Also attached is an interesting 21 page pdf re the Mechatronic unit within our transmission with some data related to the oil temperature sensor. On page 19/21 there is a really good drawing of a general layout of how these new transmissions talk, (interface), to a vehicle. It is a miracle that it all works most of the time such that we can actually go somewhere.

I have had one for years now on my Disco 3 2005 TDV6 and it has worked faultlessly. Accurate display and shows 4 of 11 functions at alltimes plus trip information and fuel tank info(lts to go, lts used, LPK, time travelled etc). Great for the price as mine is the S model with no trip computer.
Can't speak high enough about the unit.
