    D3 towbar installation?

    Hello Guys
I am trying to fit my OEM towbar, the tongue dosn't push all the way up, it is about 15-20mm short of where it should lock into position.
Is there a certain way you are meant to hold your mouth when trying to fit this thing?
I have unlocked the green knob and left the red key in place, then turned the green knob and pulled the green knob out and it still wont go all the way up.

First step is to read the owners handbook carefully to make sure you are following the procedure exactly (I am serious about this btw). I've struggled fitting and releasing the tow bar tongue a few times and eventually each time resorted to the handbook and did it exactly as described and bugger me…it worked.

It may mention this in the handbook but make sure there is no debris mud/rocks in the slot as well as this could stop it from locking home.

Good call - especially if the D3 was bought and the red plug wasn't fitted.

Also ensure you have it the correct way round (ask me how I know). The tongue part should point to the front of the vehicle.

    Hello Guys

Thank you all for your input, I kept trying and found that after the intial twist and then pull of the green doova to expose the red ring, there is another twist then it goes in no worries!
