    Hard Reset

G'Day all, does anyone know if you do a hard reset (disconnecting battery and shorting the pos and neg leads), will you need a pin code for the stereo to work again.
I am having issues with my wipers coming on every time I start and stop the car.
I was wondering if a hard reset may resolve my problem but I am worried I may end up with more problems......
I can not find a code for the stereo in any of my user manuals.

    Thanks
    Darren

    Darren,
I can only assume that you have a Discovery 3.
If this is the case then the vehicle did not come with radio code as the stereo does not require one.
The only thing you will need to reset is the clock.

    Cheers.

My 2005 D3 SE did not need radio pin after a hard reset. It did change to show information in miles not kilometres after a reset! Not the speedo just trip data which is still in miles as my SE does not allow me to change as per the user manual . Ritters and AMV both tried and failed to bring me back to KM . Check the user manual about which terminal to remove first before you do it and if you have a dual battery dicconect it as well.
