Hey Dave, we are putting the GG AT2s on ours, mainly because of price and I'm not a big fan of Coopers after the bad experience we had with them on the D2.

We have done about 5,000 k's on our set of AT3's and they keep on impressing in how quite they are and how well they handle for a fairly chunky A/T. I have not done much or to difficult off roading with them but so far they seem very good at that as well.

Add in a set of Koni FSD shocks as we did at roughly the same time and a D3 goes from a nice drive to an excellent drive.

We paid $300 a tyre so there are deals out there as well.

    cheers,
    Terry

I thought the new GG ATs are better than the older GG AT2s and are a similar price.

    Have you considered the AT?

    Purpose?

The coopers At3 are mostly a road tire. For a road tire there is lots of options,

For off road I might consider coopers in SST, St or ST max rather than AT3. Look at the GG AT2 or coopers AT3 then it realy comes back to where your going to be driving. Around town or even Oodnadatta track - road tires. Simpson desert or my favorite mountain ranges need a bit more than a A.T.

I have GG AT2 18 inch and Mickey Thompsom ATZ 17 inch on on my D3 now.

Both seem fine on road and off road on tracks. Both slip a bit to auful lot on steep slopes in rain and on mud.
Monkey bar like 3 hour winch effort to get home last night with the MT Atz at 15psi unable to stay on a steep, wet tack traversing across (not up or down). Had a similar fun with the GGat2 on last year. Saddly connected to a tree that time, not last yesterday thankfully.

Looked closely at coopers. They look fine some people love them some hate them. Hard to judge the truth from forums. The GG wear a bit better the the MTs which seem a little softer and a little more noise than the GGat2. A mate in Perth who is 90% on road 10% on sand likes his coopers.

The AT3 are not a "road tyre" but a good AT.

Also the SSt, ST and ST Max are a bit big for use in 18" sizes for a D3.

I have had a set of 5 Cooper A/T3's on order now since Moses was a lad. Next week, then next week & so on. Might see 'em one day.
These are in 17" & LT.
If I ever actually get them I will let you know what they are like.
