If you suspect a Servo of substand fuel supply , contact Trading Standards.
Have had a troll through the search function but cannot find anyone that has fitted a cav, Lucas or similar fuel filter to their D3 or D4.
I have travelled the bush and have always had after market additional fuel filters to prevent crap and water getting into the fuel system. They have save many bucks over the years.....as well as not being stranded.
Is the D4 fuel filter good enough to protect against crap fuel from many of the bush servos ? I would suspect not. Has anyone fitted an after market filter to assist the factory filter ?
Thanks.

I understand that the standard filter is good enough to protect the system from particles but the water catch volume is small and if filled can allow water further along into the injection system.
To deal with the water issue some people have fitted a "Water Watch" system Responsive Engineering | Water Testing System | Diesel Filtration | Water Watch - Water Watch System which is compatible with the Disco systems.

I had a Water Watch System that I had fitted to my D4 not long after I purchased it in 2010. Bruce told me that it was the first D4 that he had fitted one to.
My D4 had it's second service last week and I was told by the Dealer that the size of the fuel line had to be increased from 8mm to 12mm to carry the volume of fuel that is required by the D4 system. I have not had any problems but was told that I would particularly if I was towing a heavy load (which I do). I was also told if the system was starved of fuel the motor would go into limp mode.
Apparently the dealer has had this conversation with Bruce but I am yet to speak with him.
