I found mud flaps for my D3 @ british parts of utah. cheers Tom
Hi Craig,
The mudflaps you have used, are these the basic rectangle truck ones you find in Autobahn/Supercheap? That's what I used for the rear mudflap on mine after busting the plastic ones the first offroad trip.
Looks like a good idea after fitting the sliders it just makes things that much more neat plus less crap to wash out later. Nice job.
Not sure how much they are in Australia, but I'm not much of a DIYer and maybe with the cheap pound it's better to buy in the UK?

There seems to be a view around here that those rigid style mud guards are not ideal for Australian conditions. They have tended to be wrenched off.
What I like about Disco4SE's Supercheap solution is they are flexible rubber guards and will "give" when inevitably knocked around. This in turn allows them to be a bit lower and more effective. That's the hypothesis anyway.
Before I go down a long gravelly/shaley road (which I like to do as often as I can) I'm going to get me a set of these cheapo rubber guards, a copy of the template, a carton of Bundy and say to a mate "Here, make this happen." because I'm not much good on the spanners either.
I too fitted the factory mudflaps and am disappointed with them. They offer little protection. Still end up with mud stone ships up the sides both front and rear. I too will be paying supercheap a visit soon. Thanks for this thread.
Cheers
Steve
Hi Craig and all
I had the same on mine but one as already died. I think I might try a thin strip of metal as my ripped off around the screw holes in them while in deep mud. Not a big issue as the orginal mudguards used to die on mine when given similar beauty treatments in mud and they cost a lot more :D
The landrover ones have a metal bracket giving a lot more strength. We may be able to use it over ours to toughen them a little.
