I didn't think there was a USB connector - but I could be wrong.
Hi all
I bought a D4 recently but am unable to locate the iPod / USB connector. I do have the aux connector in the back, but there is no USB to be seen anywhere. This is a 2.7 base spec with a few options, one of which is a cool box in the centre arm rest - would the addition of this have deleted the USB connector?
Thanks
Ron

Ok, whatever connector you use for the iPod cable? I thought this was a USB port and would be under the arm rest - maybe I am looking for the wrong thing.

Ron,
I connect my I-pod via the AUX 3.5mm jack point in the rear of the centre console.
I have had problems in the past as I was using some cheap retractable connector cable . However recently purchase a more robust $20 cable (Belkin is the brand I think) from JB Hi Fi and it works perfectly.
Kids also have a 12v Charger for their ipods/ipads etc so charging is catered for.
I have a D3 so not sure if the connectivity has changed for the D4 but maybe there is no USB port and the AUX is the only option ?
Hope this helps.

Yeah my D4 has USB and iPod sockets in lid of that consol box,
but can't help with what they do with them when its a cooler,
surely you don't just loose them,
dealer should know and have shown you at hand over
did car come with ipod connestion cable ?
Cheers Ken
The aux connector is at the rear of the centre console in the back seat area - it is behind a cover with the 12v socket about half way down. Is really setup for kids sitting in the back wanting to listen to their Ipods through the radio. Is not really geared for use by front seat passengers as the cords need to be reasonable long.

Thanks all, I'll use the aux connector in the back. The car did not come with an iPod cable but I was considering getting one but before getting one I thought I'd check where it would be plugged in. Hence the question.
Thanks again!
Ron
I've got a D4 with centre console cooler -ipod connection cable etc still present in console lid.
I've got a base D4 and use an iPhone with this:
eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d
and plugged into USB adaptor from Jaycar:
1.0A USB Car Adaptor - Jaycar Electronics
Works ok - but the volume is a little lower than other sources. Charges the iPhone and works well.
