    D4 memory seat mystery ?

I have a MY12 D4 HSE. I have the memory seats but not automatic steering wheel adjustment. I do not have keyless entry.

The mystery is ..... Sometimes, but not often when I open the driver's door the driver's seat lowers and moves back for easier access. When the ignition is turned on the seat resumes my driving position.

I cannot figure out what I'm doing to make this happen. It may happen even if the car has been left unlocked and I return sometime later to open the door.

According to my manual: The access feature for the seat is only described for the electrically adjustable steering wheel. Am I dealing with a "bug" or as Bill Gates would call it "a feature"?

I have exactly the same configuration and exactly the same problem. I suspect we are dealing with a software bug. It would be interesting to see what software version, someone with a MY12 D4 with no problem has.

The software version can be found as follows:

    DISCO4.COM - View topic - Hidden Menu on MY2012 D4

    I have a software version of 3309-110706

That was fun. I have the same software version as you. As luck would have it the seat did its tricks when I went to check the service menu.

I don't think it is a problem. More a curiosity.

Yes, I agree that it is not really a problem. The whole memory seat system seems a bit broken, as on one occasion it stayed at access height, and all the stored seat memories would do was to adjust the back position and not the height.

Someone has posted a similar issue on the UK D4 site.

I have the same software version.

You can actually the have disco running, and hold valet for 20 or so seconds, without doing the other bits for the hidden menu to come up.
