To be fair to the Kia driver, your approach appeared to be almost totally obsured by a large tree! Maybe you need to direct this "near miss" to the local council. Good luck ha ha.

I understand what you are saying and the tree is in the way. But when I saw her pulling out she was looking to the left instead of the right. Cars from the right are the ones that will kill the driver. I was watching her, and I was well prepared to get around her. When she did finally look right she was very surprised.

Perhaps the KIA driver was Canadian?

I had that experience when I was in Oz - me being the KIA driver.

It seems that you blokes all drive on the wrong side of the road. As such, for those of us trained in the Continental manner, when we come up to an intersection, we tend to first look left, pull out a bit to get a better look, and wham - some guy is coming from the wrong direction and every one is all tore up.

Actually, this is the reality. I found that I was OK on busy roads where there was lots of traffic, but on side streets and coming out of alleys, one tends to look the wrong way first, sees nothing, and then edges forward.

The good news is that one good scare tends to concentrate the mind and it does not happen again; also ones Wife is then always on alert - the real fun.

This also applies to crossing streets when walking - and the learning curve can be similarly fast.

Hmmmm as a Canadian living down under I must take offense to the above comments. Or maybe it's because you are from Edmonton and your hockey team is beyond horrible this year........GO FLAMES GO.

Anyways hopefully will be driving my new D4 in one months time.....oh ya stupid Canadian drivers....lol

Hockey? I did not know we had an NHL team.

The papers and sports guys talk about the Oil Kings now as at least the juniors do win some games. As to the Oilers, if you listen closely, the commentators now give a run down of all the losers, such as Flames lost to Toronto, Ducks lost to Boston, Oilers lost to Saskatchewan etc - the spin is fantastic - one starts to think that losing continuously is the goal - and yes, the Oilers continued their streak again last night. 6/3 in favor of the Leafs.

I just assumed the driver of the KIA has to be Canadian, (sounds like the generous Aussies still let us in; compassionate grounds I expect; something about the weather), as I found Australian drivers to be uniformly perfect in every way.

Courteous, capable, skilled and always displaying a high level of driving ability, that sort of thing except perhaps around six in the evening - was never certain what caused that; something about public house, whatever that is and if I understood the accent correctly.
