    Its been an interesting time.

I didn't want to tell this story until the issues had been resolved fully.

The D4 went in a while back to have a turbo replaced. While the dealer had it the 2 drivers side door got chipped. I raised this with them and as the next service they would address the problem.

Earlier this year the D4 went in for the 2 year service and a few minor issues and the fix for the doors. They were not happy with the fix to the chips on the doors so it was decided to do a full re-spray of the doors.

For some reason they also forgot to do the 2 year service?

So the D4 is booked back in for paint and the 2 year service. They need the D4 for a week and I need it that weekend to move our caravan.

On the Friday I am due to pick up the D4 I get a call from the dealer... Someone has backed the D4 into an aircon duct....! This smashed the back window.... and dinted the back door....

I stayed very calm about this and discussed resolutions with the dealer.

I had some minor damage on the side where they had hit the D4 so it was agreed they would fix that as well.

I also got a good discount on the cost of the 2 year service. I was happy with the way the dealer handled the issues and I think the key was to remain calm and reasonable with them.

The damage should never have happened in the first place.... However the dealer response was good. I had similar issues a Ford dealer that didn't end well at all.

You have our sympathy mowog, had a vehicle in for its first service a while ago and they backed it off the hoist without closing the driver door !!?? LOOK no door ?

Of course if it was that other forum I would tell you it was because you don't use a WDH !
(Fitting the Mitch Hitch today take the van for a run, then I will change my tug in the RH panel, be interesting to see if he starts to pick on me. )

    Best of luck

At least that is a good result. My bad experience involved a wrx, a missing i-pod, trashed first gear sinc and thrashed motor.

The result of inquest was "no our people would not have done that'.

Two weeks latter a friend, after being warned by myself, followed the two apprentices take his two year old sti to back of a industrial estate and proceed to try drifting the car around numerous bends with tyres smoking.

The result they got fired but my car was still thrashed

I never used to drive it much, too EFFEMINATE for my ego to handle and my finance drives like an old moll. I found it very hard to stay calm with them resulting in assault charges but id do it again tomorrow.

I have a partial answer to problems like that.

    Blackvue DR400G HD.

    DR400G HD

I have 2 of these now. I only just setup the mount in the Land Rover on the weekend. It will be in the D4 next time it goes for a service.

Oh I am no longer a member of THAT forum. I asked the Admins there to delete my account. I got sick of their moderation practises which seems to revolve around who their mates are.

Blimey Rusnut.... please tell me where not to go up here in FNQ as I'll happily heed your warning.

Ian, commiserations I can only assume you've killed someone's black cat or something.

BTW, which side of the river was the service centre?

While I don't like cats... (chicken tastes better ) I am pretty sure I haven't killed any recently.

Which side of the River well clearly the wrong side for me. Maybe I need to try the south side of the river.

They look a bit attactive to leave in the Disco. Stupidly I left a hand held GPS on the dash of my D3 once at a service place near ringwood. Never to be seen again, not the bosses fault but seen me move on as my money would not pay the future wages of the thief.

There is that risk.. But I think it is worth the risk.
