I find it strange caravan community seems so friendly and positive when you are out and about. No one has ever questioned my non-use of a WDH while I am travelling.

But put them on a forum that is poorly moderated and they turn into total asshol#@'s.

Your right, I just checked and it tells me that "mowog does not exist ?"
Pity the way it has gone, been a member on there since the captain started it back in the 90's I think.
Hardly post on there now but still drop in for a read. Far too many bush lawyers on there now.

    Now back to the OP.

Good to see everything was sorted eventually

It's always an interesting time going to that place.....

I could write a small book about our experiences there, but in all fairness haven't been back for around 7yrs.

I seem to go further north & end up at that place at Redcliffe.

Still contemplating where to take the D4........

I bought our secondhand D3 from a second hand car dealer with 90k on the clock knowing it had several issues, but also knowing that they were covered by the 3 month 5000 k dealer warranty which the dealer said they would honour if my concerns proved to be correct.

Long story short, the dealers recommended workshop managed to cause even larger internal issues because of not setting the timing right when changing the timing belt (twice believe it or not). After the third time it went back together wrong I said I didn't want it back with that engine in it. All credit to the workshop owner he bought a brand new crate TDV6 long motor from LR and fitted it at no cost.

Just occassionally some industry people will take responsibility for mistakes even though it costs them many thousands of dollars to do so, in hindsight I guess I was lucky.

    cheers,
    Terry

Yes I've had lots of fun with the North dealership. The south one wasn't a happy experience either. The bolts for my prop-shaft didn't get replaced when the diff was replaced so they came out.

The sad thing is they think they are doing a good job and don't understand why I'm an unhappy customer.

My car now goes to SBL Land Rover at Acacia Ridge.
