When I drive my Defenders, I wave at all Land Rovers and usually get a wave from other Defenders or Series LR. Never get a wave back from a RR and only sometimes from a Disco.

When I drive my RRS, although I wave, I hardly ever get a wave back from anyone?
Some RR drivers actually look away! Hmmmm.....

The wave code has also been diminished to the raising of a single finger without the hand even leaving the wheel. This is possibly due to so much unrequited waving. The half hearted waver may feel less vulnerable or foolish if their wave is not reciprocated

The past weekend I towed our caravan with our D4 and got waves pretty much from every other vanner except from 3 other Discoveries and 1 Defender.

I tend to wave to most vanners regardless of tug. I find older Patrols & Landcruisers tend to be the best wavers - some of them wave profusely, plus their wives in the passenger seats get in on the act as well . But not getting waves back from fellow Land Rover owners was disappointing.

I will continue to wave regardless. Although as Mowog mentioned earlier, you can certainly get RSI being a vanner.

Much like grain-carting truckies at harvest time.

I too would welcome the resurrection of the 'wave'. Seems to me that it was more common back in the 90's when I had the D1. With the D4 I always look for a wave and will reciprocate if there's time. Think I'll now become a wave initiator to all LR and RR vehicles, so anyone around the Canberra area be ready to wave back!

I always wave to fellow landrover drivers be they defenders or discos or even range rovers(they often look at me like a stunned mullet) but I more often than not get a wave back. And I'm sure like all of you n here if I ever saw (heaven forbid it) a broken down landrover on the side of the road I would stop to render assistance if I could

An elgerly gentleman who just dismounted from a bog stock D4 initiated a wave at me in Wangaratta yesterday. Mine is a stock (for now) Bonatti grey D3.

    The wave still lives!
