I wave to the couple of D3's that I see in my part of Melbourne, sometimes I get an acknowledgment ... sometimes just a blank stare from the "soccer mum" driver, oh well I'll keep on trying. I did get a bloke in a Jeep come up to me in Thredbo a few days ago and comment that it was nice to see a D3 that looked like it went "off-road" - so that was nice.
And as I took a short break by the Murray I had a gent in a VW ask me if I'd tow him out if he got stuck ... he didn't need my help as it turned out, he had a good look at my D3 and seemed impressed.

I can only begin to imagine some of the strange looks back and how many people will go past thinking, "did I know that person?". Haha

    Drive old landrovers.

When I drive my 101 I get waves from everyone - Landrovers, Nissans, Yotas - the lot. The younger the driver and the more Japanese the vehicle the more exuberant the wave. Though a lot of landy drivers do not know the 101 is a landie.

I never get waves when driving the RRS and when I do wave to other landies, I am ignored .

I try to wave to every Landie I see when travelling. On my last trip to the snowies over xmas I only got one response - a good looking convoy including a 101 on the way up from Tom Groggin (was that you garrycol?)

I don't bother around town unless its kitted up for off-roading, but usually try and look and if the driver is looking at me I'll wave. Doesn't happen very often though.

    Cheers,

If it was a Series 2A in front, followed by a 101, followed by a near new high spec Puma 90 - then yes it was me

I am new to LR ownership - I have had my D4 for nearly one whole month. Since I have been lurking on this forum for a while, learning as much as I can, I thought it was compulsory to wave!

Since picking my car up I have been quite excited and have fanatically waved at all passing Landrovers. I have gotten a few waves back but not many. However, my D4, is stock standard, so I am probably do look like a soccer mum! And, maybe a few defender drivers a have been too surprised to respond.

I will keep it up, though I doubt my wife (the real soccer mum, will).

I pick up my new white D4 on Monday. There are a few of us in Coffs now so I will be sure to wave.

I look forward to it. I will warn my wife to wave to strangers in other Discos, I will keep it narrow, I doubt that she would know what other Landrovers look like.

Thumbs up Bring Back the Wave

"There you go" the wave is growing already. All mighty rivers start with just a few drops of rain.

Have only had my 97 defender since sep last year, try to wave every time I see a landy no mater who or what it is. Lucky 2 have had 2 or 3 waves
