    ARB Bar D4 HSE

    Guy's,

A little off subject but I posted the comment below last year when I had my ARB bar fitted.

There is no modification required. If it fits an SE it will fit an HSE SDV6!

I have not had a go at getting the headlights out as yet but looks to me as if there is enough room to manouver the fitting.

    Comment from Nov last:

"After much ado (about nothing it seems) I now have a colour matched ARB bull bar fitted to my D4 HSE. ARB have stated on their web site that the bar does not fit D4 HSE or V8 models. Given that there was little difference between the SE an HSE at the front end and ARB state the bull bar will fit the SE model I thought it worthwhile to persist. I researched through the Australian Land Rover Owners web site and with the assistance of a number of persons was able to find an ARB franchise, Mannell Motors in Sydney, who had fitted the bar to a D4 HSE and noted that there were no issues.

The staff of Mannell Motors in Sydney talked to the guys at ARB in Welshpool and were able to convince them to do the job.

The only 'engineering' that was actually required was drilling and fitting the front park sensors. Other than that it was a 'bolt off and bolt on' job.

I am happy and much more relaxed when travelling around this area, my insurer is happy and the roos in my area are less so!

Hi Guys, Girls and non binary etc etc.

Dusting off this old thread to see if anyone has managed to remove the headlights of a later D4 (2016) fitted with an ARB deluxe bar?

My purpose is first to understand how to re-lamp when I don’t really need it and general access as I learn about this car. (New to me)

Can remove grill etc but these lights are huge.

I have an ARB 'barcon my D4, unbolt at the mounts but dont remove bar tilts forward and slightly down just enough to allow the unclipped headlight assemblies forward and out. You need just enough to clear the back of the light through the body opening. Reinstall is the reverse, may need someone to help lift the bar into correct alignment. I did mine with my trolley jack underneath. Easy as.

Thanks for that. I've often wondered. I can get my headlights out onto the main channel of the ARB bar on mine, but cannot completely remove them from the vehicle. So far, I have had no need to completely remove the lights, but it's nice to know that I can if needed without removing the bar. And I have a decent trolley jack in the shed - or a large block and tackle permanently hanging from a roof beam if needed.
    Cheers .........

A 2016 should be fitted with a 'Summit' bar, not a deluxe.

Thanks for the clarification. I didn’t fit the bar (came with car) so am not up to speed on model names.
