When I ordered mine I found 1800 reasons for choosing white. And so I had $1800 to spend on other options.

Please don't choose any shade of grey or silver. It's the same colour as the road and I can't see cars that want to blend into the Tarmac. Grey cars have no right complain if some pulls out in front of them or if they get cut off by others.

    Drew,

I have a silver disco(sorry Fred!), it was Demo so I did not choose it. I find that it is quite cool, but my previous car was black, and hides road grime reasonably well. I would always suggest a lighter colour for heat and cleaning reasons and they are a big car to wash. If I was ordering I would probably go white for the dollars saved and put the $1800 towards factory accessories - stereo upgrade, sat nav, whatever.

But, in the end, each to their own and you will love it whatever colour you choose.....

I wanted Buckingham Blue but they discontinued it as I ordered my D4. I reeeaaally did not want silver or grey - I had a few cars that color and it was time to change. I had to order mine ex factory to get the locking rear diff so ordered Bournville. Tell ppl it's brown and they go "yuk" but in real life it's almost black and everybody loves it. It's just that bit different. See January Overlander mag - she got an 8 page spread.

Fred, I agree with the grey blending in with the road, but the Zermatt Silver is quite a light coloured silver and certainly stands out.

I chose white; as soon as I walked into the showroom I went up and had a look at the options fitted. It turned out it had everything I wanted, ediff, reversing camera, xenon lights, and hi-line sound system, so I put a deposit down then.
I prefer white because it does not show the dirt or little scratches as much and is cooler in the sun.

I have a silver D3 (bought as a demo so not real choice but not unhappy ) and honestly Fred if you can not see a 2.7 t Silver D3 coming at you I respectfully suggest you might need better glasses.

I think the D4 looks great in white, but I love the look of Mowogs Red D4.

    So now I am undecided.

Just remember when choosing colors, that what you see here on this forum are members vehicles & some colors are no longer available!
Mowog & GGHaggis' vehicles are Rimini Red, color is NLA, it's replacement is Firenze Red (spelling?), there are new grey's, silver's & blue's also.
This is due to the tsunami in Japan.

I chose white as I go bush as much as I can.
Purely to hide the scratches as best I can.
But if I were not going offroad I would go for a darker metallic colour.

Had a bit of a chuckle Pete. Did the tsunami wash some of the colour out of the paintwork????

No but one thing it did do was completly wash away some of the sands that various unique pigments were sourced from for automotive paints.

I wonder what happens to those vehicle with those no longer available colours if and when they need to be repaired after a crash etc. ...

    cheers,
    Terry
