    Trim removal tool / D3,D4 & RRS

    Hi guys,
I don't know what tool you are using to remove the body trim plugs as I use to battle with them using a screw driver and long nose pliers.

I had to remove my rear bumper last weekend to fit my RWC and a couple of the plugs are very difficult to get to. I asked my mechanic what they use and he showed and lent me these Wurth pliers:

They make it so much easier to remove them that I asked him to get me a pair, $29.95 on special and the Wurth tool van turned up at his shop 30min after he called them. I could not find anywhere to buy them online so ask your mechanic if you want a pair.

I bought these eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d 5 wks ago when I went to remove the plugs to take measurements for the RWC that I'm going to make. They arrived today and look like they might be useful, being larger than I expected - up to 220 mm long and fairly rigid plastic. I'll give them a try-out when I get the D4 back.

    Back? Where is it Graeme?

BTW those tools look like they would be handy for levering out trim off those button clips. As well as good for those changing suspension rods. ( No need with LLAMS)

I have a similar set I bought from Jaycar Electronics - and I paid a lot more, $25 for three tools

The D4's in for some warranty work - turbo, front bushes and a few other minor things to be fixed. I'm driving an almost brand new Freelander where the speedo is basically spot-on, cruise control is very tightly controlled and has 1 kph increments but downside is it uses more real fuel than the 3.0 for the same trip and driving, lots of tyre noise and doesn't appreciate my driveway bumps! Much better than the other options but I'm looking forward to having the D4 back.
