Also looking at the location, it is in the foot hills of Vic high country. So may have some battle damage from proper use , that's not necessarily a bad thing but may scare a few off.

    Looks lovely at that price.

I'd save your $$$ up for a Tdv6. Well worth the wait and $$ over the petrol V6.

I bet over coming months there are more and more V6 petrol D3's being offered for less and less. The 4.0 V6 is definately the least desireable by far of the three power options for a number of reasons.

A number of people I know who have advertised various vehicles for sale over the last few months are saying exactly the same thing as that bloke is, that there are lots and lots of tyre kickers and very few real offers.

Here is a far better option for a few more dollars, less k's and its a V8 and on gas.

Needless to say there is still some wiggle room on the price.

Plus the last one has the added advantage of not looking like a Kelvinator.

There are a lot of tyre kicking dickheads around at the moment.

I just sold my MX5 and had a number of drop kicks waste my time.

I had one guy look over it for an hour and take it for a drive for an hour and got me to take it to his mechanic (who found nothing )

It had brand new tyres on it and was immaculate wih 6 months reg.

In the end he offered me $ 2000 under the $ 15000 I wanted !!

There is 3 hours of my life I will never get back

Not a good time to sell anything at the moment. A lot of people are hanging on to their money, if they have it.
On the other hand, it is a good time to buy. Sellers, however, need to get a little more realistic if they are serious on selling. It's a buyers market and they have to slash prices savagely if they want to move the item.
It looks as tough this seller has realised this if, as he says, he has slashed thousands off the price.
He may have to go a little more or at least include the roadworthy.
For me, the way the add is worded is off putting.

No one wants to hear it, but it is a buyers market. How much under the asking price did you have to go to sell?

The guy who made the insulting offer probably made similar offers to other sellers until he got the car he wanted at a price he wanted.

The guy selling the D3 for $18 500 is having trouble shifting the car even at that price and will have to take less than he's asking or modify his sales pitch.

The knock on effect is that other D3 owners who want/need to sell will have to re-evaluate their expectations. As will D2 owners, who's going to buy a D2 for more than $22k when D3s starting to appear around the same price.
