Hi. I am new this this forum and also 4 wheel driving.
I need some advice on best off road tyers to fit to my Disco 4 - 18" rims.
I noticed a few good comments on Cooper AT3's.
Are there any others i should consider?
Is there a big compromise on road, especially in the wet, with these types of tyers?
Cheers :)
It might just be me but I find ATs actually come into their own on wet bitumen, particularly if there's standing water.
Just had a set of General Grabber ATs (255/60/18) fitted to my D4. A bit noisier especially at 90kph than GY Wranglers. A bit of a drone reminiscent of my KM2s but no where near as bad. Ride seems much better especially on our dirt road. Seems to have plenty of grip on and off road better than the AT2s that I had on my D3.
I was talking to my local tyre dude today and he quoted me $336 ea for the 'new' 255/55/19 grabbers. Still not LT. These supposedly haven't even had brochures printed up yet. Can someone confirm that the image below is definitely not Grabber AT or AT2 .

Looks like the same as tread mine so called AT.. Apparently the AT2s (tread like BFG AT) are still available but only for little while..
I had a set go GG AT's fitted last week for $285 ea fitted and balanced and $55 for wheel alignment, been happy with them for the 120km I've done so far?
Ps they were the 255/55/19's
The cheapest quote was for $279 ea but I forgo the $24 to have it all done at the same time as the service.
