With the front of the fob facing you and the silver side at the top, slide the silver part to the left (same direction as the arrow on the top) about 3mm. Lift the silver part up, the mechanical emergency key will then slide out to the left, completely detaching from the fob.

At least that's what happens with my fob.

You have the newer version of the key FOB then? There have been two types since 2010.
