D4 2.7 or 3.0. Is it worth it?

Quick question for you Disco gods out there?

I'm looking at a new D4 and I can choose from:
    - 2.7L for around $80k
    or
    - 3.0L for $94k

Is the 3.0L that much better?

I'd say go for the 3.0 - but to be on the safe side I'm willing to take your brand new 3.0 D4 for a "test drive" for you - I should be able to get it back to you in about five years and then I'll be able to give you my honest evaluation as to whether you made the right choice.....

Well now that you can get 19 inch wheels (aftermarket) that fir the 3.0L i wouild have one anyday over the 2.7L (we have a 3.0) better on every level, as to the oprice you have, it seems a bit steep, are you looking at a HSE or have you get a lot of options, form memory our SDV6 was $91,500 ($1500 e-diff), that price is standard, but we knocked it down a tad

    3.0 all the way.
I had the same dilemma, but price was not the issue, just the rims.
This can be overcome with 18's from green oval experience.
The extra power is so handy offroad, and towing loads. I think economy from what I have read is slightly better.
My wife also convinced me on the 3.0.

I did not drive the 2.7 but have the 3.0 which I have had for a few weeks now and 7000KM and is awesome. The overtaking power is certainly there and it is economical as well. I for one saved up enough bikkies as the 3.0 was what I wanted from all the comments on this forum and a test drive meant I was in love with it.
    Go the 3.0!!

    You guessed it......another 3.0Lt fan.
Had the 2.7Lt in the D3 and would never go back.

You can get 17" wheels with the 2.7Lt and 18" with the 3.0Lt. Other than that, I can't think of any other reason to go for the 2.7.

    Cheers, Craig.

BTW: $27K for your D3 is crap. Clean it up or get it detailed, then sell it privately
