						Howdy all,
Today I chose to buy a new D4 2.7l. Love my 4x4ing, and like the 3.0l but was just out of my price range with the fruit i wanted, So I opted for the 2.7. I was really happy with the way it drove, comfort level and how quiet it was. at 6'4 it's great to find a car I fit in easily.
So my deal got me rear air, seven seats, electric seat pack, high ice, tech pak, metallic paint, xenon lights with high beam assist, tow bar, tint and mud flaps.
I live in the country and drive 600 k's a week working, and spend the rest of my days driving around our local town, maybe 10 k's a day. I use my gps all the time and Bluetooth, so the factory options were a great step up after using a blue ant and garmin in my previous car with cables everywhere and having to charge them all the time.
Don't want to do any mods, just chuck my fridge in the back and enjoy having a 4x4 again. Love the prestige feeling this car has, which is great for work do's and the functionality it'll give me on weekends.
Anyhow, just wanted to share my excitement, and I can't wait to pick it up.

Congratulations on the car, even with the 2.7 they are good, my grandfather has the 3 litre, but dad has a 2.7 ATM as his work car, 2.7 goes well, but the 3 litre is ..., let me put it this way if you haven't driven one, DON'T, as you'll kick yourself for the rest of the time you own it. Enjoy !!!
Welcome to the forum ... and don't forget to post a few pics of your pride & joy so we can all enjoy it with you.
Congrats & welcome.
I too have the 2.7, you won't be disappointed.
As some of the guys have said, post some pic's, we all like looking.
Cheers
Welcome to the forum. I went from a D3 to D4 3.0, and although the 3.0 is amazing, I never once found the 2.7 in the D3 underpowered. Enjoy!!

Picked up the car on Friday. First things first, this is such a quiet car! I just can't believe how quiet it is.
Pre delivery was interesting, I'm not sure that it's a good thing running you through the basics so fast. My mind was a little numb during the drive home for half an hour while I processed it and battled Melbourne city traffic at the same time.
My trip home was 3 hours, so once out of the city, I had time to sus out the technology side of things.
Never had puddle lights before.....just love them, it's the little things.
Power is just fine for my requirements, 3.0l gets off the line in a way I'd prefer, but the 2.7 is better than what I had before,so I'm mighty impressed. Cruising and overtaking was effortless, did it a few times without issue.
Satnav, reverse camera, phone connection and use ability of the tech side of things is great, things I didn't have before, but now wouldn't do without again. Voice control works brilliantly once I worked out how to train it.
Downsides? Well, there's not much, last car had folding mirrors, this doesn't. Not a big thing, but I liked it. Be nice if the drink bottle storage area in the doors was illuminated, can't see when you want to grab something, and lastly, it so new I don't want to get it dirty. Which, is one reason I bought it. But I'm sure this will change.
Happy buyer and glad to have returned to the land rover brand.
Glad you have the LR Permagrin back.
I really believe there isn't a SUV on the market in the same price bracket with the width of ability as the D4. It is as much at home parked in the forecourt of a 5 star hotel as it is fording rivers on the Old Telegraph track on Cape York.
PS, once you get used to it, you will be able to find that drink bottle with your eyes closed (not that you should be driving with them closed!).
