That would indeed be a great spot - except it is occupied by an Optima D34 and the Traxide controller.
So it's got to be the other spot I'm afraid but thanks for the reponse anyway.

    Ah Ha!

Wasn't sure if you had a dual battery system.
My Optima is mounted where your Compressor is :-)

    Cheers

Howdid you fit it in there, there is hardly room for the little compressor.

Wanted to fit mine in the "extra" box on the drivers side ( I too have the Traxide system) but was not happy to move what was in there

It definitely fits after a little bit of rearranging. My setup with dual battery and compressor is the same as Sneigy's.

I\ve picked up my compressor and was looking at the install ont he weekend. I also have the Traxide system, so a battery is already installed on the passenger side.
Thus I'll install it as per Rollin Over's photos.

Question; The compressor comes with a plate to screw down first, then the compressor mounts on that. What is the best way to make that plate secure - is it enough just to screw into the plastic 'trim' piece, or are there better suggestions.

    Thanks

Any chance of a detailed description of your installation installation? Have looked at mine and have been hesitant with what's in the box

Are there any issues with heat from either of the two mounting options described in this thread?

I thought most compressors have a thermal cut off if they get too hot.
I left a bracket under the bonnet once it was wrapped in canvas and placed in the hole in the guard (passenger side), when I opened the bonnet and took it out it was too hot to handle, so I thought the engine bay was too hot for a compressor to survive.

Compressors get bloody hot when they are running so how would they go if they are already starting at 300 degrees before you even turn it on?
