I have just had an ARB winch bar fitted a couple of weeks ago. I ordered it at the end of March; a couple of weeks after picking up the car, and I ordered a non winch bar. I was later told the winch bar was in stock now and the non winch was on backorder.
I therefor paid the extra coin and had it fitted a few weeks later when I got back home. I added in some Lightforce 250 35W HID as well. I also had a cargo barrier fitted at the same time.
We had planned a Snowy Mountain trip and then through Bright to Melbourne and had a short time frame due work. SWMBO would not do the trip without the bar fitted as a few years ago near Cooma a roo committed suicide on the front of our brand new VW Golf and did a lot of damage. Hence I took the winch bar when offered.
Since having it fitted I have not done very much gravel road travel, but have noticed it moves a lot less than the bar on the Patrol so maybe the clearances the installer gave were generous. I have not noticed any different noise from it as the only change is the slight hum from the Coopers.
