I took the ScanGauge off my old car and plugged it in. But my foot keeps hitting the OBDII plug every time I come off one pedal and onto the other. It may be just that I have clown feet. It sits out from the trim about an inch. Do these other OBDII plugs for other gauges sit out the same distance?
Heard back from the OBD Reader ebay seller re: if that particular model suits my D4.
Apparently, this model will fit all vehicles that have a 'OBD-II' compliant sticker under the bonnet.............or have the port under the dash / steering column, to plug into.
Have ordered me one.

It should. All it is doing is transmitting the data that comes out of the port to a wireless reader.Quote:

Caution musty old thread ...
I just picked up a scan gauge 2 with the most current firmware revision. Has anyone cracked getting the trans temp to display ? I take it that I would need to (attempt to) program an x-guage to do it and was wondering if anyone had done that successfully ?
Thanks in advance !
You might just send an email to Scangauge. There are real people there that not only read and respond to the emails but also design the gauge as well.
I asked a couple of years back and the response was that getting tranny temperature for the D3 was not easy but that they had not given up trying.
I gather that retrieving tranny temperature would be one of those special programmed in parameters that the Scangauge II is in theory, capable of.
Thanks bbyer, good idea, I'll do that ! I've tried a range of the ford cansf codes in the x-gauge mode but no success with those.
Happy with it otherwise - got it with a windscreen mount and it sits nicely under my phone mount next to the drivers side pillar - easily visible but does not obscure vision at all. Got the colour to be pretty much identical to the oem gauges.
I wonder if anyone has had any luck here trying to read transmission temps, for either the 6 speed or 8 speed auto's?
