    Caravaning

The results on the Video are similar to the LR Promo for the D4 trailer control system, pretty impressive.

I have a 2012 D4 2.7 and tow a Trakmaster van with LED lights using the standard LR black round 7 pin connector and don't have any issue with the van lights.
I don't get the "Trailer" indicator light on the dash when the van is connected, so does this mean that the LR trailer control system is NOT working?
I'm not inclined to test this on the road and if required I will look at modifying the wiring to get it working. Any suggestion?

More than likely. You need to add a resistive load to one of the indicator circuits.

    Cheers,
