It is fact. I have taken mine caving and swimming. the danger is not so much it being affected by the water but the risk of loosing it....and it is not nice inside a wet suit.

I have tested it but one of mine now has worn buttons and wouldn't be waterproof. A bit like buying a waterproof watch and not swimming with it. If still under warranty it would be replaced if it leaked.

Risky in the surf (and in boardies) I would imagine also

If only 1 set .... it would be a pain waiting an eon for the replacement to arrive (on the back of seaturtles) from the UK!
