Forget what the dash readout says,it is inaccurate.
If mine says 9.5l/100 it is actually doing around 10.5l/100.

On a run, can't seem to get less than high 10's,nothing on roof & lightly loaded.

    Around town,generally mid 13's.
Only had the 225000 klms TDV6 D3 for a coulpe of months around town 11.1 indicated 11.7 actual

Average L/100 is 13.901 this is mainly stop start traffic for 40 mins each way weekdays.
    Highway L/100 is about 11.5.

Car has ARB front bar, Warn winch, Kaymar rear bar with usually single but sometimes double carriers and wheels, dual batteries, 105L long ranger and runs 265/60 18 Cooper ATRs. No racks on it usually.

I have a 2007 TDV6, about 140,000 on clock. Normally use BP Ultima.

Tyers are Pirelli Scorpion Zero 255/60 R18 112V

Around city (Brisbane) I average about 10.6 - 11.2, I tend to drive it hard!

Highway cycle, approx 110kmh (where permitted of course ) it gets about 7.6 - 8.

Gets much worse when towing my heavy trailer for my model planes. Have not really checked that consumption.

    2.7 D3:

After a refill, trip meter reset and rolling down a hill... What do you mean it isn't helpful or accurate?

Ok... We are getting an indicated 8.4 mixed use now after the Viezu performance remap. Lots of short trips as well as the odd (10 min) freeway run.
Better than my tuned Golf (10.5) 2.0 Turbo and better than my wife's Volvo (11.5) 2.4L NA.
Pleasantly surprised after switching to a much bigger car.

ARB front bar, Cooper Discoverer HT Plus.

What are you guys using to get a real time/ accurate readout - a scangauge?

I use a scanguage which is great if you can be arsed to keep plugging in the info and don't do partial fills.

I also use an app called aCar to track fuel usage and as my logbook. It gives statistics, charts, predictions and can be exported to excel if you want to go the full nerd.
