Thread: New Purchase Inspection

Have just purchased new D4 HSE and will pick up from showroom by the end of the month. First Landrover after 15 years with Landcruisers. Anything I should be looking out for?

This is a little point. Check that those little rubber lugs on the inner side of the doors (bottom rear corners) are all pushed in fully. They will fall out in the near future otherwise.

In my case; one disappeared from the left front door and I found the left rear one had not been seated properly. The person who worked on the right side was doing the job properly

BTW replacements are cheap from the dismantlers.

Make sure you get those extras you were promised. I ordered the heavy rubber floor mats and also received the corporate "deal" which includes premium carpet floor mats. The dealer "forgot" the carpet mats since the rubber mats were installed for delivery. He found my carpet mats when I reminded him about the inclusions for the corporate plan.

I was given a tour of the car on delivery and it is useful to know where that tool for unlocking the mis-fueling device is placed. Get them to show you where the correct hole for placing the jack in the chassis is located. It is not intuitive and the wrong place can damage suspension components.

Most of all don't be in a hurry, ask questions and have fun.
