Is that Indus Silver? Still trying to decide on colour, which has to be done in the next week or so.

    Yes Indus silver.

I wasn't sure that i wanted this colour initially, but it was the only car in the country available with rear diff, so choice was made for me.
So glad it was as i love the colour now. Looks great in the flesh, will hide scratches better than most colours.
LR use this colour for advertising all their D4's as well!

    hope that helps

    Hi Simon,

    Your vehicle is looking great.

Thanks for posting updates and piccys, I only seem to keep adding to my list of additions to my D4 at the moment, and the posts from yourself and others who are going through the 'build up' process are really helpful.

So, thanks to all those who keep the forum informed of their progress and with all the tips that go along with it!

I suspect my own build up will take place slowly over the coming months/years.

    Pat

    Hey Julan,
I use a place in Mornington to do my powdercoating. They just did one of my foremans wheels. Look awesome.
PM me and I'll pass on their details.

    Cheers, Craig

Could you provide some information (make, price, mods, etc) on the roof rack, please. I have the same colour D3 and have been looking around for a suitable rack that is low profile and functional. Would prefer an expedition-type rack but must say I do like the look of yours.

    Cheers
    Peter

    Hi Peter,

Essentially it is an expedition rack. It is the full roof length. 210Cm.
the problem with the LR expedition rack is there are only a couple of cross bars. I wanted to be able to load easily, and stand on the rack whilst doing so, so mine has a Mesh floor on it.
Brad made it for me. Disco3qld. Pm him for a price. It will be in line with other full-length racks.
It is quite light, but very strong.

Will add some more photos later.

Here's some more pics of it prior to powder coating, and the final result.

You can see from the pre-powder coated pic there are a couple of extra plates added on both sides that attachments/accessories can be bolted to.

Rack dimensions are 1250mm wide x 2020mm long.
    These are what I requested.
I have the full length rail kit and this rack sits on that on a couple of spacers provided. You add more or less spacers depending on your requirements. it may be possible to just have the short rail kit and then have some feet made for the lower roof.

Currently I have access problems into our underground carpark, so I have about 1.5cm clearance at the moment with the rack on and car in access height mode.

no other rack would have worked for me, unless i took it on and off all the time.
