Have you tried Instant Shudder Fixx? For $15 from US it's worth a try. I didn't have your symptoms but its was rough. Takes 5 minutes to do...

I had the same symptons, were told by agents and ZF I require a new torque converter.
Then as a last resort I bought 2 tubes of DR TRANNY INSTANT SHUDDER FIX and a 2 x ATF PROTECTANT fom LUBEGARD and guess what happened.
My shudder is gone and gearbox as smooth as day one, it was worth every cheap cent I spend.
Yes that is correct. However under no circumstances have the work performed by the dealer as they use however is around for the repair and I have proved this to be a waste of 7k as my vehicle is having its 2nd auto installed at another 7k cost. So that adds up to 14k within 100,000 klms spent on the auto, but this time its being re-coed and installed ny people who know what they are doing.
Take your vehicle to a specialist and not the dealer.
lukesky7, if you have a look in The Verandah (link below) there is special deal, available to members, on the steel pan kit and oil. I've dealt with Rhys and was happy with the service and products. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/im...2015/12/13.jpg

I am looking at doing a basic oil change (just drain and top up) at my next service 72,000km.
The local dealer wants $95 a litre, the local independent wants $60 a litre and the local Ford dealer had a part number but no listings under the part number.
ZF Sydney said they will only sell through a ZF dealer but we do not have one here but indicated a truck spares company in Hume sells ZF oils but on enquiring they do not sell for cars .
So where can I get smaller quantities of Lifeguard/Shell product at a reasonable price, preferably local to Canberra. This is just a basic oil change not a full on mega flush.
Thanks
Garry
Just had mine done at 89,000km. Found an independent specialist transmission shop (my Disco mechanic recommended). They buy the oil in bulk.
Cost just under $1000 (ouch) the large chunk of which is replacing the pan.
My wife dropped it off and reported that the shop was filled with late model RRS, Discos, Volvos, BMW's getting gearbox rebuilds
The guy's comment was 'you've just saved yourself $7k!'
As they say in the classics - an ounce of prevention is worth a tonne of cure.
Must say though - can't tell any difference driving it.
