Yes that is correct. However under no circumstances have the work performed by the dealer as they use however is around for the repair and I have proved this to be a waste of 7k as my vehicle is having its 2nd auto installed at another 7k cost. So that adds up to 14k within 100,000 klms spent on the auto, but this time its being re-coed and installed ny people who know what they are doing.Quote:

Just had mine done at 89,000km. Found an independent specialist transmission shop (my Disco mechanic recommended). They buy the oil in bulk.
Cost just under $1000 (ouch) the large chunk of which is replacing the pan.
My wife dropped it off and reported that the shop was filled with late model RRS, Discos, Volvos, BMW's getting gearbox rebuilds :eek:
The guy's comment was 'you've just saved yourself $7k!'
As they say in the classics - an ounce of prevention is worth a tonne of cure.
Must say though - can't tell any difference driving it.
