    Anyone had warranty grief over their dual battery system?

    Hi All

    I know LR officially won't countenance dual battery systems and there were some threads on this a year or two ago but I'd love to put a Traxide system in my incoming to give me peace of mind with my Engel. I notice now owners seem to be installing them without obvious concern. What is the latest?

    No grief with my (non-Traxide) DBS but haven't had any battery issues either.

    Hi James and the supposed problem is with a couple of dealers, not LRA.

    I actually have a number of LR dealer who fit my kits to new vehicles as optional extras.

    When I bought my car last year, I discussed this with the head mech there, and he posed no warranty qualms etc, and even said where to put the second battery.
    Having said that, if it all went wrong, who knows what they may say "no" to.

    Hi James. I have a Traxide isolator and dual batteries in a D4 purchased October 2010. In June this year I stated getting the "please start engine - low battery" messages and took the vehicle to my dealer. They replaced the battery under warranty - no questions asked, so from my experience there does not seem to be an issue in this regard.

    Given the D3 comes with a purpose built 2nd battery box and the D4 soet of if you move some stuff there should be no warranty problems.

    Hey ashes with the D4 and Traxides awesome kit there is no need to move anything around as the plate just bolts in. Now this is the recommended spot in front of starting battery as per kit instructions. I've seen other forum members mount on drivers side box near brake system, this would require moving some things around, like the Bosch transfer case module.     I was advised to remove my 2nd auxillery battery and just stick to the one in front of the main battery, we have been put on a "extremely moddified vehicle warrenty list" so if we have a problem it has to go through LRA before warrenty work can be done.

    So to play it safe and restrict some of our accessories, I removed the 2nd auxillery battery and have moved everything back where it was.

    Dealer dependent, some dealers are very legalistic, some give good service.
    If any modification causes a warranty failure they can refuse to cover the fault but it has to be the cause. Generally LR are good about claims.
