    diff breather

    Hello Together,

Just wondering is there such a thing like a diff breather for the D3 or is it helpful for water crossings?

    Thanks a lot

There is a diff breather for front & rear.

    Also for G/box & T/case.
They are all very well up high & really no need to alter.

    Cheers

    Next question

Shrouding the radiator for deeper water crossings, anyone do it?, is it necessary? Anyone had issues with electrics or broken fan blades not doing it for deeper water crossings?

I am having a snorkel fitted, and now I know about breathers that's about the final question.

Bette tone safe than sorry for water sheets. They are inexpensive and can help minimise and inundation to the electrics/engine bay. I haven't got a snorkel yet, but will continue when I do for decent water crossings.

thanks a lot, have my basic driver training with my local 4x4 club tomorrow and had theory part today, a lot of knowledge for Toyo and Nissans but no one has any LR experience so probably have a couple of more questions coming soon.

Deeper water crossings as you say,
For the cost of 3 or 4 bucks from super cheap for a basic tarp & some elastic bungy straps why wouldn't you do it!
It would better to do it anyway as you give a chance for the diffs to cool down before entering cold water. Machinery & water don't mix!
Just drive at a steady pace, nice bow wave & preferably walk the intended route first, you never know what's lying under the surface.
    Cheers
