Steve, I have experienced the central locking issue and cured it.
What I found was that the drain for the sunroof was blocked and the water from the sunroof was flooding into the wiring loom on the passenger side sill where the splice is located.
I flushed out the sunroof drain so that it no longer floods and then I located the splice, reterminated it and sealed it. Since then I have had no more issues.
MY problem first occured when I went away and the car was left outside in the rain for a few days (it is normally garaged at night and often under cover during the day). The remote would not work and then started working intermittently a week or so later and returned completely 2 weeks later (the water must have dried out). I didn't investigate then as I had no time.
A couple of months later I went away again and it rained again, result no central locking. This time I went looking for the splice and found that the passenger side was wet.
One thing I did before I pulled out the loom was check the voltage going to the central locking module. It is located in the roof near the rear aircon controls. I determined that it wasn't getting 12v ( there was a voltage but it was low). I then checked at the fuse box with the fuse removed and could see 12v there so I knew the problem was between the fuse box and the control module.
As for your park brake, sorry I haven't had any issues there so can't assist other than to attach the wiring for it.
Your link did not work so I couldn't determine if you were looking in right place for the splice. I found this link helpful. The splice is buried in amongst a large loom and you need to open the loom to find it.
