    D4 3.0Lt Surging

    Hi fellow AULROIANS.
Just wondering if anyone has experienced surging?
It mainly happens when held at cruising speed, whether it be with the cruise control on or not, and mainly at cruising100Kph , although it does it at around 80Kph as well .

I first noticed this surging last Christmas while towing my boat to Albury and back. Took it to the dealers when i returned home and they couldn't find anything .

It doesn't happen when the outside temperatures are below about 18 degrees???

I did take it to a different dealer recently. They took it for a long drive down the freeway and it wouldn't surge for them, yet on my way home it did it. They checked fault codes and nothing showed. I have also checked fault codes (while it is surging) using my OBD reader and anything showed up.

When the surging is happening , it feels like the brakes are being applied slightly , then let off again. This is also reflected when I click the blinker stork to check the real time, or current Lt per 100Klm 's. You can watch the economy figure rise and lower as it is surging.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Cheers, Craig

Is the surging too frequent to be the a/c compressor cutting in and out?

No Graeme, does it with the air co off.
It's enough so that the passengers comment.

Sounds like a fuel issue. There have been some found with a colapsed air intake hose in the wing, something easy to check first.
