Advice on buying MY09 TDV6
Hi - got my eye on one of these but have been advised that the transmission was 're-conditioned' by a LR dealer a year or so ago.
A well aware of the transmission issues, currently owning an 05 model thats had a couple of shudders, but would like some advice on whether the re-con is likely to have solved the issue, or whether its likely to re-occur.
Do they generally fit a reconditioned transmission, or do they just take apart and fix the existing one? Just not sure whether I should treat this as a warning sign, or be grateful that the issue has been identified and fixed!!
Would also appreciate any specific MY09 pointers - given its the last D3 model, can I expect that most the issues had been ironed out compared to the 05?.
Its got about 65k on the clock
Cheers

DJC,
Find out what reconditioned actually means.
If this relates to a flush of the fluid and replacement of the plastic pan to a metal one that is probably ok.
If it needed a reconditioned transmission fitted I would be wary as it means it may have done a lot of towing or other hard work.
I have a similar aged D3 and other than recently having to replace the air compressor have not had any real issues.
George.
