You can fit 16s easily enough but the car won't stop as well due to the fact that you need to remove the brake calipers to fit the wheels.

						Had an interesting comment made to me yesterday before I reshod the D3.
"Why not put on 16 inch wheels and get a decent (& cheap) tyre selection ?"
Anyone ever considered or done this ?
==============
In any case I ended up with 6 x cooper LT245/70R17 AT3
I have a "new" original wrangler and at least 3 continental (approx 9000Km usage) 235/70R17's lying about if anyone wants - PM me.

I didn't buy a D4 due to the tire sizes. The same was said about the 18 inch on D4s? A solution was made given our overly big rimed mates a bigger selection for thier D4s.
I wonder if it might be possible on a D3. Clearly not off the shelf but worth a thought!
here is the D4 details possibly http://www.aulro.com/afvb/d3-d4-rrs/...n-up-here.html
I did see a post on the D3 UK site a while back that someone did get 16" wheels on their D3. However it was a while back and I cannot recall its content.
