Yeah, I think the rear aircon is telling. You signed up before I did so you got the one I would have bought if it was still on the menu. I will very rarely use the third row seats and when I do I would have been perfectly happy for the occupants to do without their own aircon if it meant money in my pocket.
Tuesday week seems like an eon away. Please have my car ready for this Friday! For one thing Shortie is waiting to take delivery of my Defender!
Got the call today a there has been a screw up. The car i ordered apparently does not exist. Signed the contract on 6th October and find out 12th November that i'm not getting one. Not happy. To matke matters worse, my old man, who has purchased my current vehicle, sold his 100series last week!
Cambo that's terrible. As i am a purchaser who has been waiting for the same amount of time I can very easily put myself in your shoes and know how devastated I would be.
So what are they going to do about getting you into a new D4? I hope and expect that in six months time you will be in a MY2013 and this situation will be behind you.
Mate, I would kick up a stink about that, see if they can get therte hands on this car for you 2012 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 4 SDV6 COMMANDSHIFT SE Series 4 MY12 Cars For Sale in QLD - carsales.com.au - carsales.com.au[BaseEnabledBadge:SDV6 COMMANDSHIFT SE]&sort=Price
Hmm... I can't seem to get anywhere with the dealer.
Just to recap:
The original timeframe was loosely described by the salesman and he indicated by the end of the following week. Had purchased on the 27th of Sept.
I have been persistent (but polite) ever since, just wanting to get a confirmed date. In the mean time, the original sales person has resigned. The new sales person who has taken over our sale and delivery has not been able to help and indicated mid Nov... which is right now. When pressed, she then said by the 21st of Nov. Given that this would be in a week, you would think that the dealer should be able to get a solid indication as to when they will take delivery and then be able to let us know when we could pick it up from them.
Phoned today. Our sales person is not in today. Put through to manager. He said he would check it out and get right back to me. That was hours ago. Rang back. Firstly asked to hold as he was on a call. Then after holding, told he was with another customer and could he ring back. I asked if there was anyone else I could speak to, receptionist said he was the best person for delivery date information as they were short staffed.
Frustrated is an understatement!
Ahhh sigh...
So many white D4's...
Only need 2 more in April..![]()
I had the same question in my mind JayBee75. Then, out of the blue, the manager phones this afternoon (finally). Plenty of excuses as to why it was so late. But in good news, he says that the car I've ordered has finally arrived in their holding yard today and that it just needs to get delivered to their workshop for their once over and then to the dealership for delivery to us. When I asked for an estimated day, he said before next weekend. After getting off the phone, I realise he could either mean this coming weekend or the following one after that. So, it seems it's still ambiguous and whilst it does feel like it's closer than it was, I wish someone could just name the date and be clear. I suspect you are correct about the dealer that I am dealing with.
Hi Jaybe
If it helps you here is how the sales people explained the process (in WA) to me if it's of any help to you.
Ship docks and customs and quarantine ask for up to ten working days to process the cars. As they are cleared by the agents they are released to the agent and the dealer gets told what cars are coming on the next truck(s). The agent will deliver the cars to the dealer quite quickly when they are released but ask for up to two days to get them to the dealer. Once the dealer has them they can take two days to get them ready to hand over to the purchaser. The company policy is to prioritise sold cars they get their hands on so they can get them to the purchaser asap. So it can take 14 working days from the ship landing to handing over to client.
My dealer knew the ship and the docking date well before the ship docked and added the number of days and reckoned I'd have my car this Tuesday. I'd hoped for earlier but they did say they'd tell me when they got it and they haven't told me so I might be waiting a bit longer.
