Mine was working perfectly and was replaced by LR as part of a required LR service task (call out, recall, service bulletin....whatever you want to call it). I didn't ask for it to be done and didn't know it had been till I picked up the car.
What does that tell you?![]()
I don't know....as in I have just organised extended warranty and I'm certain the original had lapsed...but there was no mention of warranty at all.
I don't see why they would replace an item unless it was broken unless it was a required recall, warranty or otherwise.
I could be wrong.
Sorry, that probably doesn't help.
But they are replacing the old units with AMK. Why would they do that with a serviceable item?
My sentiments exactly. It seems strange they are replacing old units that work, but I bet they sell them to people like me as new. Haha I think I'll order mine as a part so I know it's new and fit it with a mate. Rather give home all my money hehe!
Thanks Kev, I will call Monday as my VIN is within the range of the previous service list so I would like to know about this other one and see what it says... Any ideas on the detail?
Also would you know how I can check that this was done by the dealer during it's life without asking a dealer that has it's own interests at heart?
Cheers
Not sure if this helps you, but great write up on the replacement...

LR Aust Dealers are really ripping us off looking at the pricing of these. Saying it's $600 more. Considering it comes with the relay, and new mounting bracket etc and yet it's cheaper is a good deal! Just wonder how much I might get stung getting the software updates.
I won't be buying the Hitachi that's for sure.
