Off Road Navigation in the D4

    Hi all,

I was wondering what the D4's satnav was like off road?

I have done a search and read a few posts which all state it is reasonable but there is a lot of information and tracks missing. Is this still the same on the MY12's?

I am tossing up between upgrading the in dash system in my other 4x4 but though I should check to see what the D4's in dash system is like as it might be a better option to get a VMS or Hema etc.

Does the D4's Sat Nav in off road mode compare to the information in the VMS or Hema units? I am sure on road it's fine.

    What maps does it run?

    Cheers
    Ben

    No!
Unless I am doing it all wrong.
Even with the scale at maximum expansion, I could not get the dirt bits on the well traversed Wollondilly Road to Wombeyon Caves last weekend.
And mine is D4 1 month old!
As an aside, I am trying a iPad iPhone app called GPS HD Motion x.
    Very impressive.

My MY10 has the capabaility but I've never realy tried too much other than the tracker.

However, I've read that you zoom in to get the detail....minimum expansion.
