			D3 Lowline radio stops

OK my radio stopped working, and the clock with it. No problem I did some searching and tried the hard reset.
Easy enough disconnect the battery and short the positive cable to the earth point on the car body.
 Hey presto the radio works

 BUT.... why?

It is easy enough to understand by shorting the positive cableto the earth point I have discharged all residual current in the system and therefore cleared all volatile memory. But why does that fix the radio?

The only thing I could think of off the top of my head is that there is poswsibly a memory leak somewhere in the software so that the radio software ends up pointing to undefined memory contents

Any other thoughts or does someone know the answer?

 Cheers
 Mike

Low line head unit is a cheap piece of crap. Mine kept shutting don and playing up despite being replaced twice under warranty. I gave up on it and replaced it with after market unit. Very happy with the result.
Unlike the Hi Line HU it is easy to replace.
