Since I got a rear tyre carrier on the D3 the park sensors give a continuous tone the moment I shift into reverse. We've tried to adjust, rotate and even pull out the offending sensor but it's just too close to the rear bar latch and the field of view just too wide.
Disconnecting the sensor doesn't work - it just gives a fault tone instead. Has anyone had this problem, maybe found a solution? Is there a way to rewire the sensors to bypass the problem one?
Another option I thought of today - upgrade to a rear camera instead - it might be easier than fiddling with the wiring - any recommendations for a good rear camera? There are always cheap ones on ebay. Experiences?

Have you tried repositioning the sensor actually onto the carrier? It would require extending the wiring.
When I asked Opposite Lock they suggest they disconnect the sensor, so there must be a way to do it. However the sensors are there originally, so would be nice if they all worked (except when in long grass when it's really frustrating).
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I don't know how to do it, but I do know there are people who have found a way to disable a sensor and fool the car into thinking it is still there and clear.

I'd rather leave the sensor in the bumper just so I don't have to deal with the hole. I guess I could get a blank or something to fill the gap. I did think about pulling the sensor out further, maybe using a bit of tubing to extend & mount it away from the bumper past the tyre carrier latch...
