My wonderful new (to me) D3 HSE has an annoying niggle. Occasionally the drivers side mirror dips, as both would if the reverse mirror dip function was set. As this function dips too far for me to see I have it switched off normally.

Seems to me the computer that controls the mirror is getting a false signal from somewhere. I have been looking for specific things I do or that happen before it goes to see what could cause it.

It happens maybe one in 4 times I use it, though sometimes not for a week, and other times every drive....always seems to be not long or immediately after I have started the Disco. I have turned the dip function on and off, this works as it should, but the mirror will still dip independently.

It happened yesterday after starting the engine and closing the door, the previous time while going from drive to reverse, the time before when I turned off the park brake.

It seems to be less prevalent when I do the start and drive off process slowly, carefully through the gear selector with my foot on the brake until ready to move.

Any thoughts?
